Lydia Burton is a Restoration Ecologist in RANA's Environmental Planning Department, where she specializes in ecological restoration, biological monitoring, and environmental consulting. Her work centers on restoration planning and implementation, wildlife and vegetative surveys, GIS analysis, and permit coordination — translating field knowledge into actionable environmental solutions.

Before joining RANA, Lydia honed her restoration expertise on the ground at the Santa Lucia Conservancy, where she performed habitat restoration and invasive species control across 20,000 acres of California coastal range. Her field experience spans grassland, oak woodland, and riparian ecosystems, and includes prescribed burning, spatial data collection using ArcGIS, and long-term ecological monitoring.

Lydia holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from California State University, Monterey Bay and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Sustainability Studies with a minor in Wildlife Ecology from Tennessee Technological University. She is passionate about native plants and land stewardship, and brings a deep commitment to the ecosystems she works to protect.
