Living Architecture
RANA has been a perennial pioneer in the design and construction of living architectural systems. Our living wall and roof portfolio spans two decades and ranges from small-scale residential projects to large landmark installations including the California Academy of Sciences. These living works of art enliven our urban environments while creating habitat and serving critical ecological functions of climate regulation, energy conservation, rainwater infiltration, water conservation, carbon sequestration, and more. Water system and irrigation design is an integral part of RANA’s approach to living architecture. Each living wall or roof we design and create is totally unique, and frequently becomes culturally iconic, representative of a commitment to sustainability, and a celebration of our place in the natural world.
